Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association: North American District
The Belgian Warmblood horse is the product of decades of selective breeding of Thoroughbreds, Anglo-Arabs and Europe's finest Warmbloods (Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Selle Francais and Dutch) with light agricultural horses. Today, the bloodlines of the BWP are among the best in the world bringing in only the top performing bloodlines into the breeding stock.
The BWP moto is “Bred to Perform” and the BWP Logo with the horse heads pointing to the North, South, East and West represents this breeding philosophy of combining top bloodlines from around the world. The BWP then in-turn successfully produces some of the best performing horses around the world. The list of approved stallions and mares past and present include some of the greatest names in equestrian sport including Darco who in 2011 was the Leading Jumping Sire in the World for the fifth consecutive year.
