BRANCO is an imported Dutch-bred
stallion and was the first stallion in the
U.S. to be fully approved as a Belgian
Warmblood breeding stallion. His
grandsire on his sire’s side is
RAMIRO Z who stood at the world
famous Zangersheide stud and has
been judged the most influential stallion on jumping performance
blood
lines in the last 50 years. His grand
sire on his dams’s side is AMOR who
was a foundation stallion for the Dutch
registry. His dam UGONDA is also the
dam of the twice Olympic participant
FREUD ( s. REBEL IZ) showing under
the name RADISSON DIAMOND.
BRANCO’S dressage career lasted from
1987 until 1995 under three riders He
attained 14 championships including one
at the Wellington Equestrian Festival in
1993 and was second in Horse Of The
Year USDF first level in 1988 with a 70%.
He sired 3 Horse Of The Year offspring
and is the only living BWP/NAD stallion to
have attained that status.
BRANCO’S outstanding conformation with
long neck and short back give him a natural
balance and accompanying grace that few stallions can match. His
gaits have been judged as “10” in competition and he
passes on to
his babies his wonderful fluid movements. BRANCO has sired many
futurity winners and first
premium foals and his broodmares are passing on his lovely gaits.
In 2002 BRANCO was the sire of two of the national winning Two-year
olds and
the grandsire of the 3rd place winner. He was the sire of the 9th
placed broodmare at DAD and
the grandsire of the 7th placed yearling colt and the 4th placed
two year old filly at DAD.
In 2003 BRANCO’s daughter, Datoucha had the highest score
at the Keuring. He was 2nd
grandsire of the national winner of the two-year old futurity,
Blue Bayou B, who was also Horse
of the Year for the USDF for 2003. He is the proud sire of the
newly approved stallion Addison.
In 2004 BRANCO continued his broodmare production record as two
of his daughters produced
the winning yearling and the 2nd place colt for 2004.In 2005 BRANCO
was the sire of
Cinnamon B Elite mare candidate and the grandsire of Fortune B
the reserve champion colt
(score 80) and sire of the reserve champion filly Fancy B (score
81). He is the proud grandsire
of Blue Bayou B approved stallion for 2005. Branco passed away
in 2006,
