Fidelio is the embodiment of power.  Built to stay sound, his conformation is correct with significant bone, large joints, powerful hindquarters, a strong supple back and a beautiful head and neck.  He has a kind, tractable and very willing personality and is a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

Fidelio was the Champion Colt of the BWP North America Tour in 2005 and the Reserve Champion Yearling of the BWP Tour in 2006.  He finished fourth (as a four-year-old) overall at the 2009 70-Day Stallion test with a jumping score of 105.19 and a dressage score of 122.65 with a final overall score of 117.4

Fidelio’s pedigree consists of some of the most sought after Holsteiner and Dutch bloodlines of the show jumping world – Heartbreaker, Cassini I, Nimmerdor, Cor de la Bryere and Calypso II.

Fidelio’s sire, Torino, was recently purchased by U.S. Olympian medal winner, Anne Kursinski.  With his unlimited power, scope, technique and work ethic, the pair’s goal is to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.  Torino is by the Dutch Kuer and Preferent Stallion Heartbreaker who is leaving his mark not only as a producer of high level competition horses, but as a sire of sires with more than 20 approved sons.  Torinos dam (Cassini I Mare) is also a top competitor, currently competing 1.4 m in Europe.  Like his sire, Torino is proving himself as both a top producer and a high-level competitor.  Torino sired the top foal in the BWP-NA registry four years in a row and now has three approved sons with the registry.

Fidelio’s dam, Jete (Columbus-Condino), is the mother of three approved stallions, grand dam to another approved stallion and dam of the 2005 and 2006 US Champion BWP/NA foals.  She is also mother to 100% premium offspring.  A testament to her breeding, Jete and her offspring are extremely prepotent producers in terms of type, temperament, movement and jumping power.

Fidelio has the bloodlines of a jumper, but the movement for the FEI levels of Dressage.  We are expecting great things from this incredibly talented young stallion both as a jumper and dressage mount.  His first foal is expected to arrive in August, 2010 at Avenir Farm.
