BWP/NAD “FOAL” Breeding Futurity
(Pilot Program)
The Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association/North American District is excited to announce the introduction of the “BWP/NAD Foal Breeding Futurity”. This Foal Futurity will be held during the annual keurings along with the current Yearling and 2-Year old Futurities.
Beginning in 2010: Foals born from BWP/NAD Stallions donating to the 2010 BWP/NAD Stallion Service Auction (SSA) are eligible to participate in the foal futurity during the 2010 keuring (to include *2009 Stallion Service auction donors for 2010 only. See list below of *2009 eligible Stallions) Each year a stallion donates to the SSA, their foals will be eligible to participate in the foal futurity at the annual keuring held that same year.
Stallion Nomination Fee: For BWP Stallions who do not or can not contribute to the SSA but would like for their offspring to participate in the annual Foal Futurity, there will be a nomination fee of $250.00 that must be paid by June 1st or prior to the start of each keuring tour.
OUTLINE OF FUTURITY:
Stallions owners donate one stallion breeding per BWP/NAD Stallion to the Stallion Service Auction as their nomination to that year’s Foal Futurity. All of the BWP/NAD registered foals by that stallion will be eligible the year they donate. 2010 will be the inaugral year for this futurity.
Stallion owners that do not wish to donate a breeding to the auction can pay a $250.00 nomination fee. Nomination must be submitted by June 1st or prior to that year’s keuring date.
A stallion service donation or nomination fee must be paid each year for the foals to be eligible each year.
A designated amount of $75.00 will be submitted into the “futurity pool” for each participating stallion by the registry and shall be used towards the Foal Futurity payout.
Foals must be nominated at the time they are registered online for inspection with a nomination fee of $35 per foal. All nominated foal inspection scores will determine final placing.
Payout of Foal Futurity Pool - The Payout Pool will consist of $75 per donating SSA stallion and any nomination fees. At the completion of the annual keuring tour, payouts will be as follows:
Payout will be to top 5 placing fillies and top 5 placing colts of each year. All ties to be split equally.
25% to foal owner; 25% to breeder (50% if the same) 50% to stallion owner

The following list of stallions donated breedings in 2009 during the initial design of the foal futurity, however the program was deferred until 2010. The foals born in 2010 to these stallions are eligible to participate in the 2010 Foal Futurity.
