Described as "Noble" and "Regal" by both riders and handlers, I acquired Magic Darco when he came into the US through my CEM Quarantine facility in Ocala, Florida in 2005. A son of the great Darco, Magic not only looks like his sire, but also exemplifies and passes on to his progeny the Darco appearance, athleticism, and outstanding temperament that have become the BWP ideal.
In Europe and Great Britain, Magic Darco worked as a jumper and a fox hunter. Under my custodianship, Magic is competing as a Regular Working Hunter with great success. In the 2008 season, he has been Circuit Champion of the Jacksonville Winter Series, Reserve Circuit Champion at HITS Ocala, Circuit Champion and Grand Hunter Champion at Aiken, to name a few, and will finish as Zone 4 Horse of the Year. Magic wins both jumping and on the flat, always brings prize money home, and regularly wins enough to cover his show costs and more.
A careful, intelligent, regal looking animal with amazing power and scope, and also with nice movement, he is easily ridden by professional and amateur riders. He is known for taking care of his riders, and is without a doubt one of the best all around horses any of us associated with or knowing him have ever seen or handled.
At Oak Lane we have 3 of his foals, all of which are "Just Like Magic". Being a big horse with lots of bone, he is an excellent choice for cross breeding with Thoroughbred mares, which add that bit of refinement that is becoming so desirable these days.
