Clair de Lune is a young
stallion with a
pedigree that includes some of the best show jumping bloodlines
in
the world. He has top sires in the first 3 generations, on both
dam
and sire side. His sire CONTENDOR, ½ brother to the #
1 sire of
Holstein, CONTENDER, competed internationally in many prestigious
competitions. He consistently placed and won top 10 in many Grand
Prix such as G/P of Indio, Wiesbaden Audi International, $50,000
CSIO International, $75,000 HBO GP of Delmar, LA International
World Cup Qualifier with Hugh Mutch aboard. He ranked 6th on
the
USET West Coast World Cup Qualifying list in 2003. Calypso II-the
sire of Contendor, was himself an international showjumper ridden
by
M. Ruping. He was later retired to stud and became an outstanding
progenitor siring many famous showjumpers including Contender
and
Coriolan. Cor de la Bryere – is the foundation sire of
Holstein and sire
of dozens of famous international superstars.
Graphit – is the sire of Contendor’s dam Grille,
who produced
Grannus (sire of Olympian Top Gun, Grannus Grannit, Graf Grannus,
etc. a total of 7 Olympic horses!!). Contendor’s full brother
Monty
Morelos, competed in the 2000 Olympics with the Mexican team!
On the dam's side, Clair's mother L'Vienna, a Hanoverian
Grand Prix showjumper, became a broodmare due a irreversible
injury that ended her showjumping carreer. L'Vienna
descends from Alme Z, who has sired numerous international
showjumpers including Quicksilver and Galoubet A. Galoubet
is the sire of Rodrigo Pessoa's famous Oympic mount
Baloubet de Rouet.
Clair is a beautiful stallion, very handsome with a rare bluish
tint to his grey. He has an incredible neck and top line. When
started under saddle this year he has shown us a willingness
to please and perform and a very kind temperament. In
the jump chute he has demonstrated phenomenal jumping ability,
tremendous power and is an incredible overall athlete. As
quoted by Kenneth Vinther of CWD saddlery, who handled the
stallion at the BWP Keuring this last summer “he jumps
like a
freak”, “I’ve never seen a horse jump like
that” . “He’s unbelievable”!!
Clair will be beginning his showjumping career with a
foundation of dressage in 2008 and then move on into his
jumper training in 2009. Clair’s first offspring will arrive
in spring
of ’09.
