Gatsby descends from the worldclass, famous Hanoverian G-line founded by Gotthard, representing some of the most consistently successful jumpers in the history of the Hanoverian breed. He is by the Elite Hanoverian, Gonzo I, who was America’s most requested Hanoverian stallion from 1995-1997. Gonzo proved his great jumping heritage in the Open and Puissance divisions under Olympian Frank Sloothak, topping the 7’2” wall on several occasions. He also competed successfully through 4th level dressage, and his Dressage Production Index (for offspring) has now equaled his Jumping Production Index. Gonzo’s dam was a full sister to Deister, who, with the Olympian, Paul Schockemoehle, won an Olympic Silver medal, four German National Championships, and three European Championships. Gonzo’s sire, Gepard, produced
the famous Hunter sire, All the Gold, and 12 internationally competitive Grand Prix showjumpers.

Gatsby successfully completed the 100 Day Stallion test, where he scored 9 for character, 8 for temperament, 8 for willingness to work, and 8 for jumping aptitude. Gatsby is incredibly consistent for stamping his foals with size, correctness, refinement, athleticism, jumping ability, and consistently amazing temperaments with high trainability, making him an excellent choice for the amateur or professional. Gatsby is beautiful, modern, and refined. With his excellent disposition & gorgeous presence, he is loved wherever he goes. To date, every Gatsby foal presented to the BWP has achieved a Premium score.
