Orlando is the perfect stallion with some
outstanding bloodlines and offspring. His sire Heartbreaker,
is one of the best sporthorse producers in Europe. Heartbreaker
was shown at GP level very successfully with Peter Geerink. They
were 4th in the prestigious GP of Aachen and won the "Championat"
of Dortmund in 1999. Orlando's dam is by Darco, who was extremely
successful as an international showjumper with Ludo Philippaerts
and as a breeding stallion. Darco won World Cup Qualifying Grand
Prix in Olympia and s'Hertogenbosch, was 6th in the WEG in Stockholm
and 7th at the Barcelona Olympics. For Show Jumping, Darco has
produced outstanding horses with intelligence and power like
Jolly Boy, Sapphire, and King Darco. Orlando's granddam sire,
Gibramino is a full brother of the highly respected French breeding
stallion Quastor and the international jumper Silvana B. In the
4th generation, essential TB roots are found through Alcanar
XX. Orlando's dam Nefista van Ruitershoeve was a breeding mare,
but also participated successfully at the Belgian cycle for 5
and 6 year olds and won many regional classes.
At the test in
Oud Heverlee, Orlando gave a remarkable performance. There
the judges described him as an excellent jumper with a superb
technique
and a great deal of scope. Orlando is simple to ride. He has
a clever mind and is brave, but still maintains a very mannerly
and gentle temperament. In the show ring, Orlando has done
very well with Dirk Demeersman. 2001: Double winner style class
